In 1997 with the strong support of our local Minister
Mr.Saddiq Awan who was part of cabinet at that time Govt.
has decided to open a computer institute with the name
Petroman Dikhan campus in Dera Ismail Khan.
1997 to 2006 this institute with the help of dedicated staff
and great support from the community reputed as one of
leading IT institute in Dera Ismail Khan.
In 2006 Govt. has decided to shut down all the campuses of
Petroman in all over Pakistan that’s include Dikhan campus
also. It was shocking news not only for the staff of
Petroman but also for the students and community who think
it was great asset for this area.
After consulting with staff members, community and students
it has been decided that a new name should be given to this
institute and keep it as it was.
So CIT (college of Information Technology) was established.
With the help of All Mighty Allah not only the enrolment has
increases but also the facilities, dynamic of courses and
staff members has increased.
We are looking to help and promote computer knowledge in
this back ward area and we need continuous support from our
